Ways to help with your own hands and creativity!
To get involved, gather the supplies and start building and testing. Once it's working, connect with other schools in areas of need. For instance, during a Cholera outbreak in Haiti, Haitian students in technology were encouraged to be a part of the project. Look at the "Build It" link to get started.

The current work is in the public domain and can be expanded upon.
(Note that it is critical to work under the supervision of experts and legal teams before attempting to work with other populations or groups.)
Social Scientists can study the use of transparent components influence on human trust.
When treating water or air quality, trust and belief in safety are critical among any person who would use the system. Since users can visually see the unit functioning due to transparent components, they can feel safe that the unit is indeed properly doing its job. Moreover, users are able to understand the function of the unit to thereby and repair it or start their own businesses making them.
Technology Students can study ways to more easily manufacture the unit.
Studying ways to manufacture the device for easier production. For instance, can transparent PVC sheets be glued to PVC sheet stock assuring water safety. Can the device be manufactured using 5 gallon buckets or materials found locally by communities who can benefit?
Recycled food container plastics can be recycled to make components using injection molding or thermoforming.
Particularly, the dosing unit components could be made using recycled plastics. Engineers could explore ways to make the components with waste from food container plastics.
Social scientists may study participatory design.
Participatory Design is a means of creating relationships (both locally and cross-culturally) where people can learn from one another. Participatory Design is intended to remove human power dynamics while still connecting with other cultures or people who experience disaster or disadvantage.
Contribute with Lesson Plans
Educators may share their lesson plans with other educators. Lessons on water treatment, hydrostatics, hydraulic flow, or engineering for social change are all opportunities for lessons!
Direct money without having to give from your own wallet.
Often, when you ask, "How can I help?" everyone asks for money. (Indeed, simply giving money to disadvantaged can often allow them to make their own businesses without telling others how a donor believes the problem should be solved. Often, money is the answer.) However, many people may feel a need to give from some of their own skills --it can be motivating. Moreover, it can motivate people, schools, service clubs to redirect money to causes like providing potable water. This project can make that happen. No one is asking for your money... not yet anyway!
